Area Schouwen-Duiveland

The island of Schouwen-Duiveland is surrounded by the sea, lakes and rivers where the sea winds provide healthy fresh air. An ideal spot to come for rest and relaxation!

At the tip of the island you will find the picturesque village of Noordwelle. A church surrounded by a few houses and a small school. It looks as though time has stood still. Just outside the village you will find our holiday farm. We have four rooms for B&B, seven self catering apartments and an attractive mini-campsite. The ideal base for your holiday and days out.

The North Sea beach and nightlife village Renesse is 3 kilometer from our company

Just 3 km away, the Eastern Scheldt (National Park) flows through the storm surge barrier into the North Sea. This barrier was constructed following the flood catastrophe of 1953, which has left its mark on the island. You can find out all about the construction and history of the Delta Works and at the former work-island of Neeltje Jans.
There are plenty of spots for fishing and diving and the Brouwersdam is perfect for surfers, who can choose between the waters of the Grevelingenmeer on one side of it and the open sea on the other. Boats can also be hired there.

The "Prunje" is a popular bird reservation, where you can watch a huge variety of species. The region also offers 2 livery stables where horses can be hired for rides on the beach and through the woods: the “Dominiale bossen”.
The historic towns of Zierikzee, Veere and Middelburg have much to offer the dedicated shopper and the larger town of Goes (30 min.) and the cities of Antwerp and Rotterdam (1 hour) are within easy driving distance.

The promenade at Vlissingen is also a popular attraction with its vistas of huge seagoing vessels passing up and down the Western Scheldt.
Cyclists can use the various cycle paths that connect the islands, crossing from one to the other on ferries.

A day tour of Zeeland Flanders with its colourful history, towns, cities and forts, is another attractive option.

Our broad beaches enjoy the most sunshine hours of the Netherlands and have everything it takes for a lovely seaside holiday. The island is a haven of peace in mid and low season.
